And belated thanks to everyone who risked his "life, fortune, and sacred honor" 130 years ago so that we could freely express ourselves, disagree with each other, throw stones from glass houses, and generally engage in Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happiness.

After exercising my right to constitutionally protected free speech here and enjoying a cup of coffee, I'm going to wander down and watch the Ryan Place-Fairmount parade and revel in feeling patriotic. Even us Liberals/Progressives/Pinkos do that from time to time. Who knows -- maybe I'll even see Pete!

Don't know if you saw the fireworks downtown last night, but they were spectacular.
The last 30 seconds were extravegant beyond anything I've seen in a fireworks display.
To all of the Brits, Kiwis, Canooks, and Aussies who visit this site....,
You people should really find some Imperialist Mother Country to rebel against so you can celebrate an Independence Day. Ours is great !
