For my friend and neighbor Suzette Watkins, who tried valiantly to unseat Kathleen Hicks in yesterday's Fort Worth City Council election:

A few predictions:
The potholes will continue to multiply.
East Fort Worth will continue to decline.
District 8 will continue to be in last place in every category except mail-in ballots.
We have the government we deserve.

If you were to throw out the hundreds of fraudulently submitted mail in ballots, I would have lost by about half the margin that today's paper is telling you by which I lost. I will push our County Commissioners to look at the irregularities of mail in ballots and ask that an investigation be done. Also if Tarrant Elections would not lump the mail in ballots with the early voting ballots so that the people could easily see the extremely high numbers of mail in ballots in District 8 (and District 5) compared to the other Districts throughout Tarrant County, it would help.
I really feel for the voters who took the time to vote for me because their votes have been diluted due to the fraudulent mail in votes.
I will work to rectify this unamerican, Fort Worth way of conducting elections.
I agree with Whited, potholes will multiply & East Ft. Worth will continue to decline until we rid the practices of illegal voting.

Hey, you gave it a great shot Suzette. Unfortunately, you were up against an incredibly corrupt opponent and an equally corrupt election machine. Throw in the "race vote", and the odds were stacked against you.
