I shit you not, this morning on the train there was a Chinese man in his 20s running through a set of flash cards for the 50 states. They showed the state flag, the capital, the approximate population, etc.
I didn't ask what he was doing, but my guess is that he was studying for his citizenship test. Here are some sample questions from that test.
