My Endorsement for President of The United States

In order to counteract Ted Kennedy's recent endorsement of Barack Obama, I've decided who I'm going to endorse for President of The United States.

I'm supporting someone who has already lived in The White House for eight years as First Lady of our nation.

Prior to that, during her husband's eight year term as governor of an influential state, she was in a unique position to witness and influence the beginning of a legendary political career.

She's widely believed to be the most influential First Lady in history. (Many have referred to those years not as a Presidency, but as a Partnership.) The value of her policy initiatives has been questioned, but she still has more hands-on Executive Branch experience than either Barack Obama or John Edwards.

She stood by her husband when he was nearly incapacitated. Some say that she was the true leader of our country during the last years of her husband's term.

Yes, I'm supporting Nancy Reagan for President.

I hereby second that motion. I too, believe that Nancy Regan would be the best to clean up the White House act. Way to go Whited Sepulchre!!! Awesome.

Hah! Great post! I'm jealous. And so I'll be supporting Lucretia Garfield.

Update:

Sad news. Apparently Mrs. Lucretia Garfield has passed on. Godspeed, lady.

In lieu of the recently deceased I shall be shifting my endorsement to that of President James Buchanan's wife, Patrick.

Hello,

I apologize for the incredibly late response to your comment on my post regarding the Gospel of Judas, but winter break and my return to school turned out to be quite busy. I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things soon, however, and hopefully post more frequently than before.

At any rate, I wanted to (very belatedly) thank you for your comment. To be sure, I was not advocating that the Gospel of Judas be considered for addition to the Catholic canon -- I was merely commenting on the fact that there was, if you'll excuse the expression, a snowball's chance in hell that it would be.

Thank you again for your comment, and keep up the great blogging!

P.S. While, as an Obama supporter, I have to differ with you on the reason for your endorsement, I have to say I'd take Nancy over Hillary any day of the week.

Unfortunately, Mrs. Reagan has declared that "If nominated, I will not run; if elected, I will not serve". Or maybe it was Calving Coolidge who said that....I get the two confused.
Therefore, I retract my previous endorsement, and stand behind the candidacy of "Lemonade Lucy" Hayes.
