A Photoessay On The Detroit Free Press Endorsement Of Barack Obama

The pics are from a bizarre coffee table book called "The Ruins Of Detroit".
Detroit has had Democrat mayors since 1962.  It has long been a union hellhole.
Here's the Detroit Free Press endorsement of Barack Obama for president.

What’s the best case Barack Obama can make for re-election? Let’s start with the stunning record of accomplishments he has compiled over the last four years:

• General Motors and Chrysler are thriving — a long, long way from the edge of insolvency, which is where Obama found them on his first day in office. Bridge loans and managed bankruptcies turned them around, and stable growth followed soon after. Is there anything more important to people here in Michigan?

Actually a true bankruptcy would've given G.M. and Chrysler a chance to drop back, regroup, and re-negotiate their contracts with vendors and unions.  But no....  We're in the bailout presidency.  We've saved nothing but an election cycle.

• The economy has grown jobs for the past 30 months, after hemorrhaging 4.9 million in 2009. The bleeding began to stop when Obama convinced Congress to authorize $831 billion in federal stimulus funds, and employment has grown, slowly but inexorably, since the beginning of 2010.

Bullshit.  There are fewer people working now than there were in 2008.  Record numbers of people have filed bullshit "disability" claims, and who can blame them?  Nobody is going to start new projects/businesses in a big way until they're sure that they can keep their profits.    The exception, of course, is government jobs, pork, and other boondoggles.

• The Affordable Care Act, a broad set of private-sector and government reforms, is bringing millions of formerly uninsured Americans under the umbrella of reliable health care. It’s a quantum leap forward that has bested both legislative and legal challenges.

Time will tell, won't it?  ObamaCare won't increase the supply, or decrease the demand, for doctors, nurses, pharmaceuticals or hospitals.  That's the only way to lower the cost.  Time will tell.

• Of the two costly wars started during the Bush administration, one is over and the other winding down. Osama bin Laden and at least 14 other al-Qaida leaders are dead, and their terrorist network is in tatters. Meanwhile, Moammar Gadhafi, responsible for the deaths of more Americans than anyone except bin Laden, was deposed with U.S. help. Not since the fall of the Berlin Wall have the nation’s geopolitical fortunes improved so markedly.

And we're killing children in Pakistan and creating more terrorists in Libya.  Hillary is still wandering around off her leash.

• That’s to say nothing of the president’s lower-profile victories: for women, who regained the right to seek legal redress for pay discrimination when Obama signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act into law; and for the thousands of gay and lesbian Americans who won the right to serve their country without lying about who they are.

Barack Obama suddenly discovered that he's in favor of gay/lesbian equality about 6 months ago.  He's not going to be featured in the next issue of "Profiles In Courage".
And there's no such thing as "Pay Discrimination".  There's the deal that you strike with someone who wants to purchase your labor.  No more, no less.  Lilly Ledbetter is a feast for lawyers.  No more, no less.

On the strength of those achievements alone, Obama’s second four-year term ought to be a no-brainer. Most two-term presidents can’t claim to have gotten as much done.

Speaking of no-brainers, the superintendent of the Detroit Independent School District is borderline illiterate.  Go here for details.  47% of Detroit's adult population is functionally illiterate.  Go here for details.

The country is safer. Its economy and its largest industry have been restored to health. And health care reform, fought out over 50 years in the U.S. Congress, has at last begun in earnest. When Republicans say pejoratively that Obama “can’t run on his record,” they’re peddling partisan nonsense and indulging a myopic fiction.

Well, Obama is running on his record.  People are buying the myth that he saved us from an economic meltdown, that he's improved the Middle East meltdown, and that he's "creating jobs.
He hasn't updated his stimulus report, as promised, for three quarters.
It's truly insane, by any standard, but he's still running on his record.

The Free Press enthusiastically endorses Barack Hussein Obama for four more years as president.

The mind recoils.
Folks, you can let Barack Obama do for the nation what the Democrats have done for Detroit....

\Or you can vote for someone who is almost the exact opposite.
Gary Johnson for president !!!

What if two candidates supported slavery, but you agreed with one of them on healthcare?

GREAT essay by The Atlantic Monthly's Conor Friedersdorf on why he won't vote for either of the Obamneys.  But especially the one who is bombing women and kids in Pakistan.

Go here.  Read the whole thing.

And then try telling this kid that "The Democrat candidate is the lesser of two evils".

John Jay Myers for U.S. Senate !!!

My friend John Jay Myers is running for U.S. Senate.  There's a debate tonight at 7:00 p.m., and it's the kickoff event for our Texas State Libertarian Party Convention.  (DFW Marriott South, 4151 Centreport Blvd, Fort Worth TX)

Here's something John Jay wrote several months ago, called "An Open Letter To Democrats":

So you are feeling a little let down? You probably voted for Democrats because you were tired of the endless wars, Gitmo, torture, the Patriot Act and the bad name the Republicans were giving the United States. We are disappointed too.

But come to find out the Democrats have now escalated our current wars, and started new ones. They didn’t close Gitmo and have just approved the Patriot Act yet again.

You may have voted Democrat because you believe that corporations control our country. Well you are right, but they also control the Democrats. Unfortunately the only way to keep from having the government give out larger and larger favors to their corporate sponsors is to limit size and scope of what government can do. Libertarians believe the government should not be giving out favors to corporations. Do you want to see the lobbyists flee Washington? Limit government.

It could be you voted for Democrats because you believe that health care should be a right to all Americans. Libertarians believe health care should be much more affordable, and thus available to a much higher percentage of people. But the Democrats didn’t vote to give everyone free health care, they voted to force everyone to buy a product from their corporate sponsors. Great, the new boss is the same as the old boss.

You may have voted Democrat because you believe that some people don’t get a fair shake in life. Libertarians believe that everyone should get exactly that, a fair shake. Ayn Rand said, “The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.” When we try to game the system for anyone we end up adversely effecting others, usually of the same group.

I have a saying that “Democrats are simply one economics lesson away from being Libertarians.” That one economics lesson can be found in the book “Economics in One Lesson” by Henry Hazlitt, in that book Hazlitt talks about the hidden costs of government intervention into the markets, and spells out why there is no such thing as a free lunch.

Libertarians are among the most charitable people on the planet. They just understand that if government can’t balance a budget, why would you want government in charge of your charity?

Especially the Federal government. Let’s take education for example. We know that competition creates better products. So why do we have the Department of Education, an agency 1000′s of miles away from Texas telling us how to run our schools? Why would we take our money, send it to Washington, and then ask them, “Please send us some money?” We are right here. We can spend our own money on our own schools. If we heard Missouri had a program that worked we might be quick to adopt it, but if we hear California is going bankrupt we might be quick to avoid it. The Federal government is destroying education, and competition. Libertarians think that is unfair.

The Libertarian Party is a great blend of sound economics and the idea that you should be free to make your own decisions about your life. You should give us a try. We think you will like us. Lord knows we are light years ahead of the Republicans.

Pat Dixon for State Chair, Libertarian Party Of Texas !!!

My friend Pat Dixon is once again running for State Chair of the Libertarian Party Of Texas.

That's why I'm going to vote for Pat Dixon for LP State Chair.

Bruce Beckman, Libertarian candidate for the Texas Legislature

If you live in Texas State District 93, which is this unnatural collection of real estate that stretches from East Arlington to Haslet....

....Please consider voting for my new friend Bruce Beckman.

Here's the intro from his homepage:

My name is Bruce Beckman and I hope you will vote for me to be your Representative in the Texas Legislature.

Like other Libertarian candidates, I believe in free markets, civil liberties, and peace.

I'm unhappy with the results the Democrats and Republicans have delivered, and that's why I have decided to run for office myself as a Libertarian.

May his tribe increase !
Here's his Issues Page:

Cut Taxes and Spending

Taxes are too high. That's because government spending is too high. I want to reduce both.

Today our state government spends money on almost everything: education, health care, cancer research, business incentives (i.e. corporate welfare), and poverty programs. These may be worthy goals, but they are not proper functions of government.

Steps I would take:

•I would vote to repeal the business margins tax that was proposed and signed in 2006 by Republican Governor Rick Perry, and filed by Rep. Jim Keffer (Republican from Eastland).

•I would file a bill to cut the state sales tax from 6.25% to 4%.

•Those two tax reductions would reduce state revenue by about $25 billion over the next two years*. I propose cutting expenditures to match. (The current total budget is about $172 billion.) I support across-the-board cuts, and I note that most of the cuts will need to come from the two largest areas of state spending: education and health and human services.

*Estimate based on Comptroller's 2012-2013 revenue estimate.

End the War on Drugs

Selling and using drugs may be personally unwise, but those activities don't violate anyone's rights. By establishing drug prohibition, our government has taken a modest problem and turned it into a huge problem. Now we have to deal with drug gangs and black markets, and taxpayers have to pay to keep thousands of people in jail. We need to end this nonsense which has cost taxpayers over $1 Trillion since the War On Drugs began in 1970. None of the goals of the War on Drugs have been met in its 42 year history- not one- so why do we as taxpayers keep throwing bad money after good?

Money spent on arresting and prosecuting people for marijuana -related crimes would be far better spent on pursuing and prosecuting child sex offenders, gangs, and other violent criminals.

Steps I would take:

•I would vote to reduce spending on the War On Drugs programs in Texas and seek to re-appropriate those funds to other law enforcement programs such as prosecuting and monitoring sex offenders and other violent criminals.

•I would vote for a bill to allow medical marijuana like HB 1491, filed last year by Rep. Naishtat (Democrat from Austin).

•I would vote for a bill to reduce marijuana penalties like HB 548, filed last year by Rep. Dutton (Democrat from Houston).

Relief for Small Businesses

State and local governments make it much harder than it should be to start your own business. Both native citizens and immigrants often wish they could start a business, but get frightened away by the mountain of red tape, fees, and regulations.

Politicians do this partly to protect well-connected businesses by shielding them from new, lower-priced competition. Government should not pick winners and losers.

I want to make it easier to start a business in Texas by reducing the power of government to get in the way.

Steps I would take:

•I would file legislation to reduce the power of cities to use permitting ordinances to limit and block businesses.

•I would file legislation to repeal many anti-competitive occupational licensing laws.

•I would file a bill to prohibit local governments from using tax subsidies to pick winners and losers.

Liberty for Latinos

Texas has a fast-growing Latin American population. I want Texas Latinos to leave behind big-government welfare and the big-government bigotry of the two dominant parties, and join the Libertarian Party instead. We don't want the government to prop people up, and we don't want the government to hold people down. I think that's consistent with the desire of most Latinos to have a level playing field where hard work pays off.

Steps I am taking:

•I'm encouraging Latinos to volunteer for Libertarian campaigns.

•I'm encouraging Latinos to run for office as Libertarians

Here's where you go to send Bruce some money !

If Obama's Drug War has lost Pat Robertson....

From Hot Air....

Quick: What do Pat Robertson and Ron Paul have in common? Yep, that’s right — they both think marijuana should be as legal as alcohol. Robertson made waves on the issue in the past when he said he thought marijuana-possession convictions shouldn’t end in mandatory prison sentences. He’s making waves again with the outright call to legalize the controlled substance.
Mr. Robertson’s support for legalizing pot appeared in a New York Times article published Thursday. His spokesman confirmed to the Associated Press that Mr. Robertson supports legalization with regulation. Mr. Robertson was not made available for an interview.
“I really believe we should treat marijuana the way we treat beverage alcohol,” Mr. Robertson was quoted by the newspaper as saying. “If people can go into a liquor store and buy a bottle of alcohol and drink it at home legally, then why do we say that the use of this other substance is somehow criminal?”
Mr. Robertson said he “absolutely” supports ballot measures in Colorado and Washington state that would allow people older than 21 to possess a small amount of marijuana and allow for commercial pot sales. Both measures, if passed by voters, would place the states at odds with federal law, which bans marijuana use of all kinds.
This debate seems to have no direction to go but in the direction of legalization; as Robertson said elsewhere in the article, “This war on drugs just hasn’t succeeded.”

The picture of Robertson having a psychedelic experience came from here.

A strange endorsement from Don Wildmon

Here's a statement from the Faith Leaders Coalition, penned by Don Wildmon, of the Campaign for Decency:

Atlanta, GA - Gingrich Faith Leaders Coalition National Co-Chair Don Wildmon released this statement today:

Perhaps you have heard a rumor that I have changed my support from Newt Gingrich for President to another candidate. I want you to know that is not true. To suggest that I have switched my support is inaccurate.

Without question, this election is the most important in the history of our nation. Our culture has become saturated with corruption and immorality. I firmly believe the future not only of our nation but all of Western Civilization is at stake. Voters in South Carolina will help decide if we can return our nation to its Judeo-Christian roots, or continue to slide down the slippery slope?

In the past, Christian conservatives have split their votes among three or four candidates. This has allowed the moderate-liberal wing of the Republican Party to capture the nomination. It appears we might do the same thing again.

The only way to prevent this from happening is for evangelical Christians to stick together and vote for the same person. I have decided to support Newt Gingrich and I hope you will rally behind him. I believe that the former Speaker of the House is the best qualified electable conservative candidate to make the changes needed in Washington.

If conservatives split their vote three ways, then liberal-moderate candidate Romney is a cinch to win.

I fully realize there are other very good candidates in this race. But if you have not already made a decision, I hope that you will consider Newt. If we will vote as a bloc, we can defeat the moderate-liberals.

If Ron Paul has lost Barry Manilow, he's lost the nation

From The Daily Caller:

Grammy award-winning musician Barry Manilow says he is not endorsing Republican Rep. Ron Paul in the 2012 presidential election, despite telling The Daily Caller he agrees with “just about everything” Paul says. A representative for the musician says Manilow “loves” President Barack Obama.

“Although I agree with some of what Ron Paul says, I am not actually endorsing him in the 2012 presidential race, nor have I ever told anyone that I was,” Manilow told The Washington Post in a statement.

In 2007, Manilow contributed $2,300 to Ron Paul’s 2008 campaign. He confirmed the donation in an interview with TheDC on Capitol Hill on September 15.

“I think he’s solid,” said Manilow. “I agree with just about everything he says, what can I tell you?”

“He loves his president,” a representative for the artist also told The Washington Post. The Post also reported that Manilow plans to vote for Obama in 2012.

Real quick question...  How in the hell can you "agree with just about everything" Ron Paul says, and still vote for Barack Obama?  You can agree with Ron Paul and vote for Gary Johnson, maybe.  You can agree with everything Jimmy Carter said, and vote for Barack Obama.  The earth won't stop rotating.
But to agree with just about everything Ron Paul says and vote for Obama?  How is this possible?
I'm floundering around to come up with a "vegetarians for meat" or "Kosher Nazis" - type of analogy.  I'm failing.
The mind recoils.

What Would Willie Do?

Willie Nelson has endorsed former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson for president.

GOP Presidential hopeful and former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson has gained the first endorsement of Willie Nelson and The Teapot Party. Known for his outspoken stance in favor of marijuana legalization, Governor Johnson was a logical choice for Willie’s “grass roots” party, now almost 68,000 strong on Facebook.

Willie supported The Teleprompter Jesus in 2008, but is probably disappointed that the hypocritical dope smoking and coke snorting dipshit hasn't done more to stop black people from being locked up in steel cages for dope smoking and coke snorting.

Here's the great Bruce Robison, singing "What Would Willie Do?"

Mark Boler for Congress, Texas District #26

Due to some long-forgotten gerrymandering, my house sits in the southern panhandle of Texas Congressional District #26.
Come November, this accident of geography gives me the privilege of voting for Mark Boler, the Libertarian candidate for Congress.

Here's why I think Mark Boler would be great....
Go here to check out his responses to the Dallas Morning News Voter Guide survey.

You can also go here to his campaign website, but Mr. Boler's Facebook page has a much more concise summary of his beliefs and principles:

I am a Libertarian. I am outspoken. I believe in extremely limited government and maximum personal and individual freedom. And I believe the United States of late is moving in the opposite direction and is in need of REAL change.

I believe that government is best that governs least. The role of the government is to protect INDIVIDUAL rights and DEFEND the country from attack. I believe in free trade and no entangling alliances.

I firmly believe in the non-aggression principle of the Libertarian Party. I believe in cutting taxes, bringing all of our troops back home and ending the Federal Reserve system.

Because I believe in a strong DEFENSE, however, I do not believe the US should dismantle all nuclear weapons. Other countries will acquire them in the future no matter how hard we try not to let them.

I am running for US Congress, Texas' 26th District. The platform I believe in that will restore this country to greatness includes these tenets:

* Dramatically reduce the size and scope of government.

* Shut Down the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

* Abolish the Federal Reserve System and return to a policy of sound money.

* Restore the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 8th amendment rights of every American.

* Repeal the Patriot Act and other legislation that violates 4th amendment rights.

* Return the United States to a foreign policy of non-intervention. Note: This does NOT mean isolationism.

* End the war on drugs and get rid of drug prohibition

* Withdraw the United States from the United Nations and other one-world organizations.

* Remove "big government" Republicans and Democrats from office.

* Phase out Social Security, Medicare, Welfare, Food Stamps, WIC, and other communist programs and eventually replace them with free market, insurance and charity based systems.

* Restore individual sovereignty and reduce the role of government in our lives.

* Restore the rule of law and criminally prosecute politicians, corporations and other individuals who violate the law.

* Allow American citizens to spend their own money, own their own property, raise their own children, practice their own religion, be secure in their persons, be free from government harrassment and regulation, own and carry deadly weapons for protection, travel and do business from state to state unmolested, and speak and think freely without danger of imprisonment.

Does this sound extreme?  Heck yes, it sounds extreme.
Now, tell me if this sounds extreme....Your government has you on the hook for $50,000.00 in debt.  If you, like me, have a family of three people, you are $150,000.00 in debt.
There's also your share of the unfunded liabilities are somewhere north of $350,000.00.  (More than a million dollars if you're in a household of three.)
Once all the teachers, soldiers, policemen, jailers, parole officers, congressmen, bureaucrats, and African Genital Washers start retiring, they're going to want your money.  And they're going to get it.  We're doomed.  The piper is going to have to be paid.

However, there is some hope for our grandchildren.  We can start electing Libertarians who pledge to shut down entire departments within our government, get us out of the Korean/German/Japanese defense business, get us out of the bailout industry, and force us to spend only about 75% of what we take in while we whittle down the debt.

Congressman Michael Burgess (R-Monsanto) is probably a great guy, but he will no more shut down the Department Of Energy than shut down the orbit of Venus.  Republicans just aren't the shutdown types.

Extreme?  Maybe so.  But say your family is one million dollars in debt, and if you're an average American earner with a family of three, your family really is going to have to come up with a million bucks to fund this disaster.

Can you think of a way out that's "moderate"?

Bryon Severns for Congress

I went to a District Libertarian Convention this morning, a meeting where we nominated and voted on candidates for various multi-county, state, and national offices.
One of the speakers was a guy named Bryon Severns, who is running for U.S. Congress, Texas District 6.

Each candidate had a couple of minutes to give a brief bio, explain his political philosophy, and to take any questions.  Someone asked Bryon to give us his two minute "elevator speech" on the healthcare disaster that's about to descend upon us.

Bryon didn't even have to think about it.  I don't have his exact words, but he said, in effect, "Healthcare is expensive because there is not enough supply to meet the demand.  The current healthcare proposal in Congress does nothing to increase the supply of healthcare providers.  Therefore it's a mistake."

I immediately jumped up and started applauding, the way Nancy Pelosi does when Obama takes a breath.  I mean, how long has it been since you heard someone running for public office stand up and speak the truth?

But instead of flooding the market with doctors, nurses, medics, and pharmacists, and instead of doing something to make entering the market with a new pharmaceutical product less expensive, what are we about to do?

We're about to create a monster.  Here's Mark Steyn.....

Meanwhile, Obamacare will result in the creation of at least 16,500 new jobs. Doctors? Nurses? Ha! Dream on, suckers. That’s 16,500 new IRS agents, who’ll be needed to check whether you — yes, you, Mr. and Mrs. Hopendope of 27 Hopeychangey Gardens — are in compliance with the 15 tax increases and dozens of new federal mandates the Deemocrats are about to “deem” into existence. This will be the biggest expansion of the IRS since World War II — and that’s change you can believe in. This is what “health” “care” “reform” boils down to: fewer doctors, longer wait times, but more bureaucrats.

But back to the subject of Bryon Severns.  Here's what he's got to say about the printing press abomination currently running on overdrive on Fort Worth's Blue Mound Road:

Republicans turned money into paper so they could fund war in Vietnam and outspend the Soviet Union. Now the money printer has gone digital and both major parties will “borrow and spend” until the world stops trusting our DOLLAR and changes to a different reserve currency, causing our nation to crumble like the Soviet Union.

Vote Libertarian to stop Congress from playing monopoly with our money or the next bailouts will be for states. Giving bailouts supports failing management.
Since the federal government spends, borrows and prints money without control we need to end the madness to preserve the savings of Americans. I would sponsor a bill called “Stop the Money Printing” Act of 2011. This bill would ban all federal borrowing and would ban all printing of money. As a result money will stop losing value. Without new money being printed we could feel secure that our life savings will stop getting “watered down.”

And you can go here to read Bryon's proposals for achieving a smaller government with less public debt.  This isn't a hot issue yet, but it will be.

Here's what he's got to say about the difference between Democrats and Republicans.  It's very similar to what I've often said about the Crips and the Bloods, but more to the point.

Go here to be Bryon's friend on Facebook.  Go there.  Go ahead, do it.  Even if you live in England.  Git !

Want some real Change?  Want some Hope for a stable tomorrow?  Please vote for Bryon Severns for Congress.

For the Scott Brown truck bomb - Townes Van Zandt's "White Freightliner Blues"

My friend Leslie at Leslie's Omnibus has been keeping up with the election for what people insist on calling Ted Kennedy's senate seat.
It's NOT Ted Kennedy's senate seat. It's the Kennedy FAMILY senate seat. When JFK was elected president, he had a family servant named Ben Smith keep the seat warm until young Teddy came of age (he was not yet 30). Calling it the "Ted Kennedy Seat" does a disservice to the Democratic Party's Constitutional Monarch system.

Note to self: Write a post on why the Democrats have Superdelegates at their conventions and the other political parties don't.

Scott Brown, the Republican from out of nowhere, has caught the attention of The Teleprompter Jesus by driving a truck and mentioning the truck as proof of his just-us-folks credentials. Go here for more info. Obama recently said "So, look, forget the ads. Everybody can run slick ads. Forget the truck. Everybody can buy a truck." Brown responded with "Are you out of your damn mind? With 10% unemployment caused by your insane crap, and you wanting to tax or insure everything with a pulse? You think anybody feels secure enough to go out and buy a truck?" “Mr. President, unfortunately in this economy, not everybody can buy a truck. My goal is to change that by cutting spending, lowering taxes and letting people keep more of their own money.”

That's the essence of the 2010 Massachusetts truck controversy. I'm partial to the libertarian guy who is running as an independent, Joe Kennedy (no relation to the family which has long held the seat due to royal prerogative).

Leslie is asking that everyone post a truck photo or song to commemorate this exchange between Scott Brown and The Teleprompter Jesus. A truck bomb. She should have quite a collection by the time this thing is over with. This is Townes Van Zandt's 'White Freightliner Blues' as performed by Lyle Lovett, Ricky Skaggs, Alison Krauss, Jools Holland, and Faith Hill. (Imagine that lineup as an SAT question, where you're supposed to circle the name that doesn't fit !)

Ok, now you can forget the truck, Martha Coakley, and Scott Brown. GO JOE KENNEDY ! ! ! ! !

Colin Powell Endorses Barack Obama

On "Meet The Press" yesterday morning, General Colin Powell endorsed Barack Obama for president.
Among the many reasons he gave?
Temperament. Steadiness. The conduct of the campaigns. The Economic crisis.

Plus, Republican SENATORS continue to whisper to him that Obama is a Muslim. I got the impression that General Powell has had it with The Daddy Party (R).

Do they not watch television, listen to radios, or read newspapers? Haven't they heard of Reverend Jeremiah Wright, whose (Christian) sermons Obama caught hell for listening to for twenty years?
Powell also said something like "and if he is a Muslim, should it matter?" He went on to tell about this photograph....

Should it matter?

Please discuss.

A Byrd In The Hand....

Former Klansman Robert Byrd, the Democratic Senator from West Virginia, has endorsed Barack Obama for President.
The former KKK "Kleagle" and "Exalted Cyclops" stated that:

I believe that Barack Obama is a shining young statesman, who possesses the personal temperament and courage necessary to extricate our country from this costly misadventure in Iraq, and to lead our nation at this challenging time in history. Barack Obama is a noble-hearted patriot and humble Christian, and he has my full faith and support.

Senator Byrd entered the Senate in 1959, a period of service rivaled only by Democratic Senator Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts, another early Obama supporter in the Senate. You probably remember Senator Kennedy, whose anti-PT 109 moment in 1969 involved driving a car off the Chappaquiddick bridge. His heroic underwater escape from the car, which was burdened with an unconscious secretary, has become legendary. But not legendary enough to keep him out of the Senate for the last 40 years.
Hey, anyone can make a mistake. I know I make hundreds per day.
David Duke, Charles Manson, and Lieutenant William Calley have yet to endorse a Democratic candidate. The nation waits....

My Endorsement for President of The United States

In order to counteract Ted Kennedy's recent endorsement of Barack Obama, I've decided who I'm going to endorse for President of The United States.

I'm supporting someone who has already lived in The White House for eight years as First Lady of our nation.

Prior to that, during her husband's eight year term as governor of an influential state, she was in a unique position to witness and influence the beginning of a legendary political career.

She's widely believed to be the most influential First Lady in history. (Many have referred to those years not as a Presidency, but as a Partnership.) The value of her policy initiatives has been questioned, but she still has more hands-on Executive Branch experience than either Barack Obama or John Edwards.

She stood by her husband when he was nearly incapacitated. Some say that she was the true leader of our country during the last years of her husband's term.

Yes, I'm supporting Nancy Reagan for President.
