NOW on PBS had a great program this weekend titled Credit and Credibility that to me explained just what happened on Wall Street. I highly recommend watching it, you can find it on their web-site.
Flea, I don't think that "the poor people" have enough $$$ to ruin anyone's economy. To do that requires rich people trying to make money off loans given to poor people, loans that are unfortunately guaranteed by all American people, which everyone thought was enough to make them a safe investment for the world's people. Lots and lots of people were wrong.
I was in berlin shortly after the wall came down. Hitler's bunker was situated in what became no-man's land and I was standing right atop it. I know thios because an elderly American told me. He knew it because he'd been 8th Airforce aircrew and had done his research (obviously it isn't sign-posted otherwise Neo-Nazis would be there 24/7 singing the bloody Horst-Wessell song) because as he told me, "I fought this bastard for 2 years and lost a lot of buddies and I wanted to know where he lived and stand there".
By the way... I thought "Downfall" was the best movie I saw that year. Although the guy who played Adolf was AWESOME, I don't think you can win an Oscar playing hitler. Maybe a Tony... Just ask Mel Brooks.
