Here's George Will on the Peruvian menace. He makes some of the same points made elsewhere in these pages, namely that: Opposition to liberalized trade has become liberal or, as is now said, "progressive."

It's a beautiful irony. "Classical Liberalism" in the original sense, was generally about smaller government, individual rights, freedom of contract, etc.
Are there any groups more likely to maintain the Big Government Status Quo than those who self-identify as "Progressives"?
