Big Brother needs your help.

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.
Big Brother can't keep up with the discussion. He doesn't say what he's going to do with the information. Big Brother just wants to know.
I think Obama's Insurance Destruction program will be a disaster. I believe that old people will be euthanized. I think that people with pre-existing conditions will be forced to sell their pets to buy medicine. I believe that Doctors who treat people outside of Obamacare will be propped against a wall and shot. I believe that people merely wanting a physical will have to bring sleeping bags and multiple meals with them to the Doctor's office.
There. I've said it. Once again, here's the email address to report Enemies Of The State spreading counter-revolutionary doctrines amongst the proletariat: flag@whitehouse.gov
You know what to do. A couple of hundred emails per concerned citizen would be appropriate.
What a bunch of earnest, over-reaching dipwads.
A fresh coat of Whitening to Neal Boortz for the info.

Why the public option sucks!

Flee,
In the cartoon that you linked to, did you notice that the private option shows about 8 people, and they're all tilted to one side, but the public option only shows one lonely government employee standing at the fulcrum of the scale, perfectly impartial?

A more realistic portrayal of the public option would show a vast assembly of bureaucrats crammed onto the cartoon see-saw, violently running from one side to the other, depending on the election cycle, until they're eligible for government retirement. AT AGE 49. (Look at the Department of Energy, which Jimmah Cahtah created to reduce our dependence on foreigh oil, and which has had a 0% success rate. Or, God help us, the Department of Education.) How many of those people do you think there are room for between you and your doctor?

Flee! You beat me to the punch!

WS -- have you actually ever compared the amount of overhead/bureaucracy between the public sector and private insurers? The private insurers have the public sector beat all to hell in terms of numbers. Which is why private insurance is so freaking expensive.

Do the research...I know it takes time, but do it anyway. The government has no monopoly on bureaucracy.

My daughter is having open heart surgery Aug 20th at the University of MI. Yesterday we received the information packet with a list (four pages, both sides, small print) of over a hundred different insurance companies. Each different insurance company has many different levels of coverage. How many people are standing between us and our doctors now?

Flee- With all due respect to your daughter's condition, it sounds like there is only one person standing in between you and your doctors...you. Pick an insurance provider, go with it, and be GLAD you have a choice in the matter, because you won't for long.

Also be glad you have the choice NOW, because if this proposed abomination of a healthcare system were in place right now, your daughter's Aug 20th operation date would most likely be Jan 20, 2010 instead. Don't believe me? Come talk to the numerous veterans I've spoken with about their experiences with government run VA hospitals. Your enthusiasm for the proposed Ministry of Compassion would surely wane.

Anyway, differences aside, I sincerely hope all goes well for you guys on Aug 20th.

Back in my day, Presidents had the common decency to spy on us covertly and create their own enemies lists.

We currently have health insurance.
We have always picked up the employer offered health insurance. Back in the 80's when we were first married it was free. When my husband spent 10 years as an owner-operator driving a truck we paid for the whole policy. We pay more and have less every year plus the deductables and copays. My point is with all the insurance there is out there why isn't it more competitive? Why isn't it costing us less now? Why do companies have so few choices when trying to find affordable insurance to offer their employees? Why do we need hundreds of companies offering variations of the same plans? How's that choice? The paperwork alone is a big waste of time and money. And how has that choice benefitted the consumers? Any savings that has been gained from sending jobs overseas, releasing patients early after surgery, doing outpatient surgery, the list goes on, has been passed on to the CEOs in terms of higher pay and bonuses.

One system, replacing all others, not for profit, run by doctors, using what is already collected from us through pay roll deductions and what we pay for our insurance. Everyone is covered from cradle to grave. No medicade, no medicare, no VA, just one system run by doctors and nurses. We could throw tort reform in with it because the health care denominator will be out of the picture if, god forbid, something bad happens. Stop rewarding doctors for ordering tests and sending people with the flu home with antibiotics.

When you get to the 1:07 mark of the following clip the doctor lements about having a hard time believing the most rewarding procedure he does doesn't really work. I have a hard time believing it's because he has his patients best interest at heart.

I don't think that concerned citizens will need to send even a small number of emails.

The number of places I have seen that address posted I suspect that the One will have more than enough viagra, penis extensions and Nigerian widows to keep not only Michelle, but all his other supporters happy.
