Shirley Sherrod, the NAACP, and racism within The Tea Party The NAACP

Here's the Tea Party's first counter-offensive against its recent critics.  (You remember the Tea Party?  The organization with all the racists in its ranks?)

From Ed Driscoll:

The Agriculture Department announced Monday, shortly after FoxNews.com published its initial report on the video, that Sherrod had resigned.

“There is zero tolerance for discrimination at USDA, and I strongly condemn any act of discrimination against any person,” Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said in a written statement. “We have been working hard through the past 18 months to reverse the checkered civil rights history at the department and take the issue of fairness and equality very seriously.

Andrew Breitbart is going to post one of these counter-offensives every day this week.
Welcome to Barack Obama's new post-racial America.
The Tea Party is kinda goofy, but the charges of racism are nothing more than a ploy to intimidate fence-sitters and keep them from participating.  The NAACP really should've gotten the beam out of it's own eye before picking at the specks within the Tea Party.

In the words of one commenter: “The difference between the tea party and the NAACP is if you are looking for racists at the tea party you look at the fringe and if you are looking for racists at the NAACP, you look to the stage.”

Don't get me wrong....I think Shirley Sherrod did the right thing by intentionally denying the tax money for the white farmer.  I wish all tax money could be denied to white farmers.  And black ones.

From Wednesday afternoon:

Go here for an update.  It seems that the video doesn't tell the entire story.

Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa

Your comment about the "Tea Party" is, to put it plainly, stupid. What is the "Tea Party" except a very loosely affiliated informal individual of literally millions of individuals. I go to the rallies regularly and, if race based thinking permeated the air to a noticeable degree, I would flee.

As is the case when you put large groups of people together, there are always a few idiots. The idiots, of course, are the ones that the press sticks the microphones in front of. Most people who go to the Tea Party believe that the answer to dealing with four or five or six maxed out credit cards is not to get four, five or six more. I would surmise that you have never been to a Tea Party event. If you really want to have a clue as to what you are talking about, I suggest that you go and check it out for yourself. The best way to learn about a person or people is to go talk and listen to them yourself, not to listen to what others say about that person or persons.

Arrrrg!
Ok, I can't.
I'm weak and I have no strength of character.
I'm butting in where I shouldn't really butt.
Let the merciless mockery begin.

I think Shirley Sherrod did the right thing by intentionally denying the tax money for the white farmer.

Is that really what happened or is that just the impression the public is supposed to get thanks to "creative" editing?

Andrew Breitbart is going to post one of these counter-offensives every day this week.

Now where have I heard that name before? Especially in connection with videos and "creative" editing.

The Tea Party is kinda goofy, but the charges of racism are nothing more than a ploy...

But...

and well, um, this other stuff too.
LGF has a handy-dandy list of truly odious links.
Go to the last sentence of the article cited. Click every individual word. I certainly have. Ugly stuff immediately pops out at you.
The kind of stuff you'd expect normal, ordinary people to aggressively and openly purge from their ranks.

That's just my two cents worth.
Sorry again for butting in.

Here's the full unedited video.

Forgot to add this one in my previous post.
Interview with the farmer concerned.

FR 1776,
I've been to every Tea Party rally in Fort Worth, including the first one.
They're fun, but, well, kinda goofy.

I love that quote about the Tea Party and the NAACP. I plan to plagiarize it frequently.

One fact worth adding at the risk of damaging a wonderful laconic phrase, is that some of the "racist Tea Partiers" on the fringe were actually liberals in a false flag operation. One school teacher in Portland has already been caught red-handed in a plot involving several of his leftist friends to sabotage the Tea Party. Now we see who the real extremists and who the real grass roots movers are.

And we're still waiting to see which lucky person will collect the $100,000 reward for providing proof that any Tea Partier ever called any member of Congress a "nigger" after he voted for the health care bill.
