In the '70s, my uncle had a book called "The Coming Ice Age". It was apparently popular back then as I recall (his book was a grocery store paperback). I was fascinated by the theories that we'd all be under a layer of permafrost and hunting wooly mammoths for dinner. I've been scouring the internet trying to find this book and the global cooling theories of a few decades back. I'd like to compare and contrast, etc. However, finding this info is next to impossible! I think the reason that theory didn't take hold like the current warmer theory is due to the lack of money making oppotunities. No ice cap and trade or buying cooling offsets. Just a theory - it could change.
A new low for Allen, who clearly doesn't understand the incredibly complex, intelligent and devious CO2 molecule. As anyone should know, the shadowy network that the CO2 collective operates within is very obviously embarked upon a massive, well coordinated feint. By first cooling the planet for say, a decade, they bolster the heretics claims and lull the heedless masses into yet more tireburning, army tank drag racing and bovine flatulence. Then, bang, a sudden shift and the CO2 collective becomes a smothering kiln. And the SUV driving oil shills drag the innocent Priusly pious into the fiery depths of green house effect hell. Gotta think outside the box here, Allen.
TLG,I would give anything for a copy of it. If you go back to an earlier post about "Climate Tipping", you'll see a vigorous debate still raging on this same topic. Jay,I can't believe you figured it out. The whole cooling is a sign of warming thing. I thought we could fool you. By the way, are you staying warm up there?
By the way, I may have shown this before, but this is a good blog that shows the warmist/alarmist vs. the no-big-dealist/humans-arent-causing-itists...http://climatedebatedaily.com/
