Snowe, Collins, and Specter take a hit for the team

A group called The National Republican Trust Political Action Committee believes that there's a significant difference between The Daddy Party and The Mommy Party.
That's why they're trying to withold Republican campaign funds from (and support Republican challengers to) Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins of Maine and Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania.

Snowe, Collins, and Specter were the only three Daddy Party members to vote for the Senate's version of the stimulus package.

Well, to paraphrase Voltaire, if Snowe, Collins, and Specter didn't exist, it would be necessary to invent them. Sooner or later, the thing was bound to pass, and it had to have some Republican help to get there. If debate had continued, various Republican goodies under the stimulus Christmas tree would've been slowly nixed until we got a genuine "stimulus-only" bill, and that wouldn't have helped anybody's donors.

Snowe, Collins, and Specter don't run again for 6, 4, and 2 years, respectively. They represent predominantly Blue states, so they're most likely to come out re-elected, especially since most voters have the same long term memory capability as guppies. No one will ever know if they volunteered to slut themselves out this way, or if someone further up the pyramid pimped them out.

Keep an ear open for harsh and savage criticism of Snowe, Collins, and Specter from fellow senate Republicans. Listen closely. Have you heard anything yet?
Chances are, you won't hear a peep. You don't send three people out to take a hit for the team, and then publicly criticize them for their willingness to do the dirty work.

Once again, please repeat after me: There is no difference between The Daddy Party and The Mommy Party. None.

Well let's see the math here. The National Republican Trust PAC has said that it will support primary challenges against Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe and Arlen Specter because they voted in support of the Stimulus Package. Gee, thanks NRTP, by dividing the Republicans in your these states, the Democrats get to pour unified support into the Democratic challenger's campaigns in both Maine and Pennsylvania and BINGO, three new Democratic Senators. Thanks again to the NRTP for making it easier for us! Divide and conquer.

Anonymous,

You say that like it's a mad thing.

I don't think you get my point. There's no difference.

Go Libertarians !

WS - funny you should once again trot out the old saw about there being no difference between the Republicans and Democrats. In all the talk swirling around the stimulus package I can hardly tell the difference between the Libertarians and Republicans.

The only difference I can see at all is the Libertarians want to legalize dope, and the Republicans ran the dope for Vice President.

I'm sure if you asked any number of European Socialists, they'd say there wasn't a nickel's worth of difference between the Democrats, Republicans or Libertarians.

How embarrassing is that?

WE'RE NOT WORTHY ! WE'RE NOT WORTHY !

Doctor,
The Republicans made a little noise, got the bar tab down by 20%, and then rolled over on their backs with their feet and arms in the air. Totally docile.
I spent a lot of time in the truck today, surfing NPR and the Republican/AM stations, and AM 1360.
Not ONE high ranking republican had a bad thing to say about Snowe, Collins, or Specter. They gave 'em a job to do, those 3 got it done. Seriously, if this was anything more than street theatre for the benefit of the masses, somebody would be parading Arlen Specter's head around the gates of Washington on a pike.

And we don't want to just legalize dope. We also want to legalize the guns used to shoot people who try to steal our dope. And reduce the size of government until everyone can afford more ammo.
