WE ONLY HAVE 24 MONTHS TO SAVE THE PLANET!!

Go here.

Trust me, just hit that link.  I'll be here when you get back.

(As long as you do it within 24 months, or to be exact, within 630 days, or 15,120 hours of December 10th, 2014.)  We'll all be past the tipping point after that.

Here's the link again.  I know how you folks are about hitting links.

If we've passed that horrific date (December of 2016) without taking significant action on Climate Change, we will have passed yet another Tipping Point.

It will be too late to recycle.  It will be too late to stop flying, or to continue sorting through our garbage like raccoons.  It will be waaaay to late to send Al Gore's Kleiner-Perkins Investment Group any money for carbon offsets.

It will be too late to begin stumbling around in the dark all night like a pack of aboriginal tribesmen just recently down from the trees.

By December something of 2016, it will be too late to tax the carbon emitters who have made your world an unimaginable paradise (if your grandparents could see you now).

It will be too late to make governments more powerful.

I hope you've hit that link by now....

Have you had your giggle?  (I love the sound that Tipping Point deadlines make when we go flying past them.)

This is like the U.N.'s threat that we'll have fifty million climate refugees by 2010

It's like Al Gore's fake concern that the polar ice caps will be gone by 2013

It will be like all of the other failed climate predictions, and there are a lot of them.

The climate prediction business (and it's nothing but a business) is much like all the predictions for the return of Christ.  You can be wrong all you want, then just re-arrange the scriptures, come up with a new date, and still not lose very many followers.  And if you drop out altogether, the business will continue without you.

Sometime after December 2016, the proprietors of the 100 Months And Counting website will look around at the ice caps, the snow, and the rest of the typical wintertime weather, and they'll shut down their Tipping Point Apocalypse website.

Then they'll move on to the next gimmick and the next marketing/scaremongering stunt, never doubting the righteousness of their cause.  There's a sucker born every minute.

Latest sign that The Apocalypse is upon us

From a recent conversation with a college graduate.....

Whited Sepulchre: We give out three awards at our Libertarian Party National cCnvention.  There's The Thomas Jefferson award....,

Twenty-five year old: Cool.

Whited Sepulchre: And we give out an award for best communicator of the Libertarian message called The Thomas Paine award....,

Twenty-five year old: (nods head)

Whited Sepulchre: And for service as an activist, we have The Samuel Adams award.

Twenty-five year old college graduate:  (looking genuinely perplexed) Why did they name that one after a beer?

Predictions for 2014

Let's get into some serious prophecy for 2014

1)  The Obamacare rollout (sic) will be a disaster.  Nobody will know who does and who doesn't have insurance.  The Idiot will continue to finesse the program based on polling.

2) Unfortunately, the Republican Party will have one hell of an election in November.  They're going to take the senate.

3) The Dallas Cowboys will not win a playoff game.  Head coach Jason Garrett will be fired.

4) The Libertarian Party will win some down-ballot races in rural Texas.

5) I'll get down to about 190 pounds.

6) Jesus will not return to earth to begin his 10,000 year reign as predicted in the Book Of Revelation.

7) It'll get colder.  Warmists will panic.

8) We will have a minimum wage increase.  Minority teen employment rates will continue to fall.

9) U.S. troops will hit the ground in some new and exciting place.  Not because we're needed, not because it's any of our business, but because that's where the money is for contractors.

10) Barack will continue to make noise about income inequality.  He will neglect to mention the staggering income differences between the worst neighborhood in Fort Worth, Texas, as compared to the best neighborhood in, say, Eritrea.  That's because citizens of Eritrea can't vote in our elections.

Now that I have all the negativity and cynicism out there, let's hope it's a great year !!

Global Warming Hits Fort Worth, Texas.

We've been snowed in since Thursday night, and there's a good chance that we want get out until Monday.  This is the view from my front door.

We have 36 months before we reach the earth's "Tipping Point" when it will be too late to stop irreversible global warming.

According to Secretary Of State John Kerry, we have less then 30 days before the Arctic is ice-free.

Seriously.  Who are you going to believe?  Al Gore and John Kerry?  Or your lying eyes?

Herman Cain and Ron Paul on The Housing Bubble

Let's kick Herman Cain while he's down, shall we?  After all, he was Deputy Chair of the K.C. Fed for a couple of years, and still defends that vile organization.

Here are some crusty old Herman Cain and Ron Paul quotes about the possibility of there ever ever ever being a "housing bubble".

One of these guys was proven right.

Bill Clinton thinks Climate Change Deniers make us look like a joke

From Politico:
Bill Clinton turned up the heat on the leading Republican presidential contenders Tuesday, saying their opposition to acknowledging climate change makes the country “look like a joke.”

“If you’re an American, the best thing you can do is to make it politically unacceptable for people to engage in denial” about climate change, the former president said on the first day of the Clinton Global Initiative’s seventh annual meeting in New York City.

“I mean, it makes us — we look like a joke, right?"

Here's the pic of Clinton addressing the Climage Change conference, which I assume he flew to on a green plane powered by green hamsters on recyled treadmills.  I remember the last time he wagged his finger like that, don't you?

Speaking of jokes, here's a U.N. map from about 10 years ago, showing all the places that were supposed to be underwater by now if we didn't give Clinton, Gore, the U.N. and Climate Scientists lots and lots of money.  And set up a carbon credit exchanges through one of Gore's companies.  And stayed home a lot more, unlike Clinton and Gore.

This is a beautiful map.  I love it more than life itself.  Go here for the original post.
Speaking of other jokes, here's Clinton's Vice-President, Al Gore, The Goracle Of Music City Tennessee, claiming that THE POLAR ICE CAPS WILL BE GONE BY 2013 if we don't give him and his venture capital firm, Kleiner Perkins, a whole lot of money.  Enjoy.  It's a real knee-slapper, but not as funny as the map.  This is from back in 2008.  Hit the link.

Finally, here's a post about some crazed Brit named David Parker, at the Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research in Berkshire claiming that snow is going to be a thing of the past in England.  Hit the link.  He made this statement in 2000.  The pics of the snowstorms are from 2010, and are hilarious.  Funny, funny, stuff.  Some might even call them a joke.

Develop your own plan for balancing the U.S. budget.

Go here.  Play with this machine.

The levers are set at the current U.S. spending and taxation levels.

Cut the spending and raise the taxes until spending equals taxes.  Pay attention to what year the nation once again becomes solvent.  Experiment with taxing the Evil Rich and the Evil Corporations to the max for a year.  Then ask yourself how hard the Evil Rich and Evil Corporations are going to work to provide you with more money.

Remember, every time you raise taxes, you're taking away money that Evil Corporations or your Evil Neighbors use to create jobs in THEIR favorite industries.

Every time you cut government spending and government jobs, you're taking away some politician's donor base.

We are so, so, so screwed.

Like so many other good things, I first saw this on Instapundit.

In which Barack Obama goes on a Witch Hunt for the cause of high fuel prices

One day a couple of years ago I was doing my Mad Prophet Of The Internet routine, smearing myself with peanut butter and locusts, raving in the streets and banging pots and pans together.  I got no attention whatsoever.

I was predicting some mega-inflation.

You see, printing money is the only way that the Reagan / Bush / Clinton / Obama big spenders will ever get their debts paid.  But if you print all this money, prices go up.

I said that rising prices would soon be blamed on corporate greed, and asked folks to send me copies of Lamestream Media editorials blaming the rising prices on greedy corporations, greedy people, and greed in general.  Hit the link.  But if you don't have time to read the link, here's the kicker to that old post:

Good luck when prices start doubling. A special prize will be awarded to the reader who sends me the first earnest MSM editorial blaming greedy corporations for the price increases.
I still haven't seen one of those indignant editorials, but if you spot the first one and post a link, I promise to mail you a free dachshund.  The first and second runners' up will also get a free dachshund.

In the meantime, our Inflator In Chief is taking this waaaaay beyond anything I could've dreamed possible.  It's freakin' unbelievable.  (Most of these links I'm using came from The Streetwise Professor. )

Believe it or not, this beautiful example of finger-pointing crap is actually on the Department Of Justice website.  Barack Obama, without getting drunk or stoned first, has actually started a task force to look into possible fraud, collusion, and speculation as the cause for rising gasoline prices.  I swear to God, he's doing it.  He's trying to get waaaaay out in front of the story:
WASHINGTON – Attorney General Eric Holder today announced the formation of a Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force Working Group to focus specifically on fraud in the energy markets. The Oil and Gas Price Fraud Working Group will monitor oil and gas markets for potential violations of criminal or civil laws to safeguard against unlawful consumer harm.

The working group will include representatives from the Department of Justice, the National Association of Attorneys General, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of the Treasury, the Federal Reserve Board, the Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as the Departments of Agriculture and Energy.

“Rapidly rising gasoline prices are pinching the pockets of consumers across the country,” said Attorney General Holder. “We will be vigilant in monitoring the oil and gas markets for any wrongdoing so that consumers can be confident they are not paying higher prices as a result of illegal activity. If illegal conduct is responsible for increasing gas prices, state and federal authorities should take swift action.”
And so the Witch Hunt begins.

Here's more on this charade, from Fuel Fix:
Craig Pirrong, a finance professor at the University of Houston who specializes in commodity prices, says the task force is hardly needed, since the agencies already have the tools to monitor for fraud and take action.

“This is a transparently political fishing expedition that insinuates that fraud or manipulation is distorting oil prices without providing even the flimsiest factual basis for such a suspicion,” Pirrong said. “This is part of a broad effort by the administration to deflect criticism with regard to gasoline prices.”
Yeah.

Get ready for higher fuel prices, higher clothing prices and higher food prices.  Higher everything prices.  Barack Obama and Ben Bernanke are printing money all day every day.  The supply of goods is remaining stable, but the money supply is increasing.
Don't you wish you could pay your bills with a printing press?

38 BILLION DOLLARS IN HISTORIC, UNPRECEDENTED CUTS !!!!

In the month of February, the Boehner/Obama/Reid Axis Of Weevils spent $223 billion that they didn't have.  Multiply that by 12 months with plenty of ups and downs, and you get a really, really big number.  Something like 1.5 trillion last year.

Last night, in an episode that both factions called "historic" and "unprecedented, Congress hacked $38 billion from the budget.

$38 billion.  That's all we got from about 4 months of Kabuki Theatre.

That's nothing but the interest on the current debt level for just 11 days.

If you vote for members of the Libertarian Party, the Libertarian Party will show you the government spending that is "non-essential".

The Department of Education does nothing but take tribute money from the states, swipe some off the top, and then send a portion of it back to the states with rules and regulations attached.

The Department of Energy was created by Jimmy Carter to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.  They've spent billions, and the "dependence" hasn't budged, but DOE employees have increased their incomes nicely.

We have more troops in Germany than in Iraq.

We have more troops in England than we have defending the Texas border.

And it goes on and on and on and on.

Please consider the Libertarian Party.  We want to march on Washington and demand.....nothing.  We want less.

John Boehner isn't going to cut anything

Ok, we're 15 trillion dollars in debt.
The yearly deficit is something like 1.4 trillion.

Congress is yammering back and forth over whether to cut 30 billion or 60 billion from this year's budget.

A 60 billion dollar cut, in that context, is nothing.  Nothing at all.  And the people who want to cut 60 billion are known as "extremists".  The Statists have more reason to fear Benito Mussolini than John Boehner.

John Boehner couldn't cut the fat from the prime rib at a Shreveport, Louisiana casino buffet.
John Boehner couldn't cut wind at Chilifest.
John Boehner couldn't succesfully cut the cards for a game of Crazy 8.
John Boehner isn't going to cut anything.

Relax.  Nothing is going to change because of Republicans.  Disaster hasn't hit us yet.

The latest sign that we are living in The End Times

Go here for details.

Chapter 9 of the book of Revelation is the most apocalyptic thing I could find to illustrate the pics I found there.

13The sixth angel sounded his trumpet, and I heard a voice coming from the horns[b] of the golden altar that is before God.
14It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates."
15And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind.
16The number of the mounted troops was two hundred million. I heard their number.

17The horses and riders I saw in my vision looked like this: Their breastplates were fiery red, dark blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads of the horses resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke and sulfur.

18A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths. 19The power of the horses was in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails were like snakes, having heads with which they inflict injury.
20The rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk. 21Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.

HE DID IT ! THE OCEANS HAVE STOPPED RISING ! ! !

From The Guardian (UK):

Scientists have been forced to withdraw a study on projected sea level rise due to global warming after finding mistakes that undermined the findings.

The study, published in 2009 in Nature Geoscience, one of the top journals in its field, confirmed the conclusions of the 2007 report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). It used data over the last 22,000 years to predict that sea level would rise by between 7cm and 82cm by the end of the century.

In a statement the authors of the paper said: "Since publication of our paper we have become aware of two mistakes which impact the detailed estimation of future sea level rise. This means that we can no longer draw firm conclusions regarding 21st century sea level rise from this study without further work.

One mistake was a miscalculation; the other was not to allow fully for temperature change over the past 2,000 years. Because of these issues we have retracted the paper and will now invest in the further work needed to correct these mistakes."

IT WORKED !  IT WORKED !  HE DID IT !  THE OCEANS HAVE STOPPED RISING ! !   ALL HAIL TO THE OBAMESSIAH ! ! ! !

We can all sleep so much better now....

Mark Steyn, on your unknowing audition for the next Mad Max movie

From Mark Steyn:

....The other day, Douglas Elmendorf, director of the Congressional Budget Office, described current deficits as “unsustainable.” So let’s make them even more so. The president tells us, with a straight face, that his grossly irresponsible profligate wastrel of a predecessor took the federal budget on an eight-year joyride, so the only way his sober, fiscally prudent successor can get things under control is to grab the throttle and crank it up to what Mel Brooks in Spaceballs (which seems the appropriate comparison) called “Ludicrous Speed.”

Obama’s spending proposes to take the average Bush deficit for the years 2001–2008, and double it, all the way to 2020. To get out of the Bush hole, we need to dig a hole twice as deep for one-and-a-half times as long. And that’s according to the official projections of his Economics Czar, Ms. Rose Colored-Glasses. By 2015, the actual hole may be so deep that even if you toss every Obama speech down it on double-spaced paper you still won’t be able to fill it up. In the spendthrift Bush days, federal spending as a proportion of GDP average 19.6 percent. Obama proposes to crank it up to 25 percent as a permanent feature of life.

But, if they’re “unsustainable,” what happens when they can no longer be sustained? A failure of bond auctions? A downgraded government debt rating? Reduced GDP growth? Total societal collapse? Mad Max on the New Jersey Turnpike?

.... Consider the opening paragraph of Martin Crutsinger, “AP Economics Writer”: “WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama sent Congress a $3.83 trillion budget on Monday that would pour more money into the fight against high unemployment, boost taxes on the wealthy and freeze spending for a wide swath of government programs.”

What language is that written in? How can a $3.83 trillion budget “freeze spending”? And where’s the president getting all this money to “pour” into his “fight” against high unemployment? Would it perchance be from the same small businesses that might be hiring new workers if the president didn’t need so much money to “pour” away? Heigh-ho. Maybe we can all be striking tax collectors. It seems a comfortable life . . .

If unsustainable is the new normal, it should also be the new national anthem. Take it away, Natalie Cole:

“Unsustainable
That’s what you are
Unsustainable
Though near or far
Like a ton of debt you’ve dropped on us
How the thought of you has flopped on us
Never before
Has someone spent more . . . ”

It’s not the “debt” or the “deficit,” it’s the spending. And the only way to reduce that is with fewer government agencies, fewer government programs, fewer government employees, lower government salaries.

Instead, all four are rocketing up: We are incentivizing unsustainability, and, when it comes to “some collapse down the road,” you’ll be surprised how short that road is.
