The top cartoon is spot on -- amazing how quickly the Democrats learned to love the Patriot Act after the 2008 election.
The second, not so much. Business is so all powerful it runs the Government, and the solution is...do nothing? Because that's what the message is. Or am I missing something here?
I used to worry about government intrusions into our privacy, until I realized it is too incompetent to do so effectively. No government employee has any interest in spying on that couple. They're too busy looking at porn on their computers.
The exception might be the spying government does on itself and its employees.
