Karl Rove, You Magnificent Bastard !!

For legal, personal, ethical, campaign finance, and ridicule-protection reasons, most 2016 presidential candidates are not yet saying that they are a 2016 presidential candidate.

But political operatives are already producing attack videos cleverly designed to hurt the other side.

The actor in this video is a guy named Jason Tobias.  Nobody knows who really did the singing, but it wasn't Tobias.  I don't know who had the idea to produce this thing.  I don't know who gathered the background shots.  Whoever did it was a genius.

Republicans will be playing this thing at parties and rallies for decades.  Hell, I might start a Libertarian PAC to have it aired during the Super Bowl.

She Whose Name Is Not Spoken will never, ever recover from this.  This is the dirtiest trick I've ever seen.

Behold: The redneck, white trash, Ford F-150, bulldozer, soccer mom-country, flies on the baby, ticks on the dog, "Stand With Hillary" campaign video.

John Jay Myers explains why government shouldn't try to create jobs

Check out this video, where John Jay Myers takes a deep breath, briefly sets aside his non-aggression policy, and fisks an Obama Town Hall meeting.
He explains why the government has absolutely no business running a job creation crusade. (Look how well it worked out for FDR.)

This is why Texas needs John Jay Myers in Congress.

In the words of one of John Jay's friends, everyone in this Town Hall meeting should be beaten about the head and shoulders with a copy of Atlas Shrugged.
JJM is having a fundraiser/campaign kickoff this Thursday night at Sambuca in Dallas. 6:00 p.m.

Does This Excite You?

Does this excite you?

Here's Reverend Estus Washington Pirkle, of New Albany, Mississippi, on the subject of what heaven will be like.
The entire video is worth watching multiple times, but if you're impatient you can skip to the 1:10 mark to learn about your new glorified body. Somehow, I was expecting better things.

The rapturous assemblies at 1:40 remind me of the crowd at Ronald Reagan's funeral, or perhaps Denver's Mile High Stadium during the Democratic Convention last year, but a little less worshipful.

If you ever allow yourself to watch from 2:05 to 3:00, you will watch it again. It's gonna be seared into your brain. You've been warned.

The looks on the congregation's faces says it all, doesn't it?

This isn't a heaven I would want any part of. Plus, it's whiter than a Mormon choir.

As Mark Twain put it, "Heaven for climate; Hell for society."

A fresh coat of Whitening to Little Green Footballs for the link.
I'm posting excerpts from Pirkle's work every weekend. Hit his name on the post labels to see the others.

Cooling, Warming, Ice Ages, the 1970's, Disco, Nixon, Cedric, Charts, Graphs, etc....

It's time to discuss Global Warming Climate Change.

My friend Cedric Katesby has sent me an assortment of videos intended to annhilate the commonly held view that in the 1970's, there was a widespread fear of another Ice Age.

Click here to see one of our earlier discussions. It goes on forever, and continues underneath various "Does God Cause Hurricanes To Hit New Orleans Because Of Gays And Lesbians" posts for about a year.

The video below features lots of Nixon, Travolta and Disco before getting down to bidness. Essentially, Cedric is concerned that I've had too much fun with the contradictory Time and Newsweek magazine covers like the ones above.

Cedric will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we're supposed to view the Ice Age cover from the 1970's with extreme skepticism, and approach the "This Is Your Planet On SUV's" cover with the reverence we always hold for peer-reviewed research.

I've carried around a listing of some of the supposedly "neutral" articles in my briefcase for more than a year now, and have made it into the TCU library to look 'em up. Some of it is over my head, and some of it isn't.

Stay tuned.

In the meantime, here is a chart showing estimated mean temperature from the last 5 million years, provided by these folks. (HT, of course, to Wikipedia.) See the uptick 3 to 3.5 million years ago?

Now that is some Climate Change.
